Question:my grass in my backyard is beautiful but the grass in the front yard is embarrasing. its like perfect in some spots but in other spots u can either see dirt or short short short yellow grass. im starting to get embarrased when we have parties or friends over cause u never noe if theyre talking bad about u while walking up to ur door. im having my birthday party in about a month and i want my grass to b perfectly normal and beautiful to wear i can win yard of the month before my birthday. i dont wanna show off, i just dont want to be embarrased by my stupid grass. is there anything i can use to make my grass normal and even so its not like pretty and then all of a sudden u see ugly yellow grass and dirt. also should i tell my lawnmower something cuz he always mowes the places that look horrible and i think hes rlly stupid for doing tht cause its obviously not helping. so is there anything out there tht helps or any tips (like amount of watering per week) tht will help,

the one quick thing you can do is buy new grass that comes in rolls you can get them at home depot and all you have to do is water it a lot and they will never know the diffrence
Are the bad spots being obstructed with too much shade? We have that problem in our front yard, we can't get any grass to grow in certain places because there isn't enough sunlight.
toss grass seed on it and wait!...water once a night
You hae to work out why the grass is in bare patches. Is it possible that dogs are using it to urinate on?
Otherwise, yes, get some grass seed, scatter it on, water it every day, and tell the lawnmower guy to keep off!
could it be that when the home was built the builders buried some of their garbage in the front yard.paint cans and such? These things do happen if that is the case regardless of what you do nothing will grow there if ..get someone with a metal detector to check it out
try a grass seed mix.a good mixture of different type,s of grass...some need direct sun...other,s do well in shade...a good lawn care company will be able to help.they can take soil sample,s & recomend the correct course of action...good luck!
Possible causes of thin grass are soil compaction, improper mineral balances, too low or too high soil pH or too much shade. If your soil is in bad shape, no new seed growth is going to last long.
If you want beautiful grass in a month, you'll have to work now to aerate your lawn, reestablish top soil if necessary, fertilize properly and seed to get a healthy looking yard. This is a LOT of work and to top it off a long schedule of daily maintenance if you don't live in a rainy area.
If you can afford it, get a pro to clean up what you have, loosen your soil and sod your lawn. That way you're guaranteed to have an even, green lawn.
