What part of the plant needs light to make it grow?
Question:I'm going to hang a plant (some kind of trailing ivy) in my kitchen and as it grows I plan to trail it along my ceiling. My concern is that it won't get enough light if I put it there. Right now the whole thing is in front of a window and so it gets light daily. If I move it to the kitchen, I can put the base of it infront of the window to get light but all the parts trailing around my kitchen won't really get any light, So, does the new growth need light, just the base of the plants where the roots are or the whole thing? Thanks!
Answers:
the leaves make the cholofil for the plant to grow, which needs hte sun to work its magic. so best part is put it in a sunny window.
the leaves need the light
photosynthesis occur,s in the leave,s...that,s the part that convert,s sunlight to energy.
