Can anyone tell me about oak trees that are about eight inches high, how often should they be watered?

Question:I have a few oak trees that I planted from acorns. They are now eight inches high. I don't know how often they should be watered or if they need any special attention. They are out in the open so they do get a lot of sunshine.

Answers:
if it dont rain a lot once a week should be enough.. over watering will be just has bad as no water when they get taller might have to stake them for the wind oak is a hardy tree

8 inch trees planted directly from seed should have a well developed root system. They should kept watered at a rate that allows the ground at the surface to dry out before re watering...This could be 3 to 4 times a week or once every 2-3 weeks...Soil substrate will determine that..Don't over water as oaks are very tolerant of dry periods but will not tolerate wet roots...
