Is gasoline a good idea for killing weeds that are growing up through the deck?

Yes, it will kill the weeds, but it's very harmful to the enviroment and also illegal to use in that way. You're much better off buying some weed-be-gone from the garden section of your local hardware store.

Lord, no. All you need is for someone to drop a cigarette between the floor deck boards!! And the smell, well, it will last longer than you want, put plastic under there.
Gas is real good, just douse the deck with plenty of gas between the boards and then throw a match and poof, no more weeds.
you should never use gas to try to kill weeds. you should use a weed killing product like round up. By putting gas on the ground you are polluting the ground in the area you live.

Get some 'Round-Up' from the store (WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes, hardware stores). If you get the concentrated type, you can control how strong you mix it for best results.

If for whatever reason you do not want to use weed killer, try saltwater. I would advise against using gas.
