Answers:
Whatever it is either dust with BCH or bromophos powder, or you can spray with dimethoate, formathion or malathion one of these will do the trick and neither will harm your plant.
Caterpillas
These are caterpillars. You need to catch one and put it into an empty pill bottle and take it to a local nursery to ask what to do about them.
could be the Cinnabar moth. a lovely pink and black moth when fully formed

Maybe it is the bean leaf beetle. Check the description on this link:

Sounds like you have found the caterpillar of the small tortoiseshell butterfly, which feeds on stinging nettle.
The emergence of butterflies and moths is now being effected by the very mild UK weather.
Take great care in handling, or even getting near to 'hairy' caterpillars. The hairs can be extremely irritating, especially if rubbed into the eyes!
This sounds like a leaf-cutter bee (Megachile centuncularis) which is about 10mm in length. Typically they cut a near perfect semi-circular hole in the leaf edge and carry the spoil to the nest to make small cells for developing larvae. The adult is dark brown (appears black) above with bright orange hairs under the female's abdomen for gathering pollen on which they feed.
You are very lucky to see one as they are so small.
