Is there a such thing as too much sun for a lemon tree?
Question:i have been keeping the tree outside usually. i figured it would like the warm temps and the sun and it seems to be fine in the night when its 60s. but some leaves are wilted now. i watered it yesterday because it was 95 out there. no water today so far. is it getting too much sun? does it need to come in at night? does it need more water? its in the 80s here now.

No such thing as too much sun for the lemon tree... And as long as it doesn't frost, the cold temps are fine. If it's looking droopy, I think you need to water the tree more, because of the hot temps, during the day.
Don't water after sunset, because mold and fungus can develop. Water around the base of the tree between 6-7 p.m. Give it a good soaking near the roots.
I guess, because if there is too much sun for any plant, they get wrinkly and die. thats what happend to my beautiful flowers in 92 degree weathere.
Water your tree at night. Watering it during the day at 90 degrees is just a waste of time. The water will evaporate.
Well, disease is not entirely out of the question. It sounds like your tree is just thirsty, though. 80s is a good temperature range for lemon trees, but they DO need plenty of water and will need a lot more of it at 95.

I have lemons and limes which all grow outdoors in pots, in full sun, all Summer. The new growth will "sag" a bit during the hottest part of the day, but then they perk back up. I water heavily every other day( letting the water drain well), unless the weather is just unbearably hot, then I water every morning. I have plastic pots, so they retain a bit more moisture. When watering more often, and the water "leaches" the nutrients out more often, I find fertilizing once a month with a good organic citrus fertilizer works wonders. I have about 25 fruits in various stages on each tree.
