Optimal settings for watering?

Question:Here is the deal. I'm in Florida, and because of the drought I can only water on Mondays from 12:01 am to 7:59 am, and 6 pm to 11.59 pm, and hand watering is restricted. I have 5 zones, 3 front and 2 back using a well that is only refilled by rain. My front yard is fine for about 3-4 days, then starts turning brown. Right now I'm really hating looking at it. I water it for 30 minutes 4 different times on Monday while cutting back the minutes on the 2 back zones. What else can I do? should I bump up the time to 40 or 45 minutes?

Answers:
If you are using water from your own well, then you can water any time that you please!

But, being on city water, you can only water when "they" say you can.

Water in the mornings for "all" zones. The best time is 7-7:59am. This will do nicely as the sun will do its thing for the grass and plants.

Dont water at night! It can promote fungus growth and bacteria that is harmful to plants. Always water in the mornings.

You can water 3 times a week M-W-F and that will be sufficient for the lawns and other plants. Do it for the 59 minutes in the morning.

I wish you well...
