Weed and insect control?

Question:I live in Ohio, and in my vegetable garden, I have a weed invasion. I pulled weeds last week, and just yesterday I was pulling them again...by the handful! Is there anything I could do or try?

Also, there are little flying bugs eating my veggie plants. They leave little holes in the leaves. Insecticidal soap hasn't worked. Any ideas?

Answers:
I use preen for weed control. You pull your weeds than sprinkle preen and water. It actually works pretty good and you only have to do it every three months. For the bugs I use bug be gone. That also works pretty good. You can also take an empty container that fits on your hose (like the miracle grow one) and put dish soap in it, spray your plants it keeps the bugs off plus it cleans the plants.

I don't know what to tell you about the weeds but for the little bugs, try using regular dishsoap and water. spray it all over the plants. This makes it distasteful for them. We used this method with our plants. It gets rid of aphids too!
