Birdhouse Watching?
Question:My daughter is building a birdhouse for a school project. Any ideas how we may be able to watch the inside of it and see if a new familly moves in?

The Plexiglas, suction cup, window, bird house thing sounds a little 'hinky' if I was a bird. This spring I made a bird cam. I bought a cheap infrared web cam on eBay for less than $10. Then I built a wren house (you can get plans with the proper dimensions from the Audibon Society), I already had several with occupants near the house, they seem to accept the close quarters with humans better than most birds. To get the camera to focus on the bottom I built the house a little taller and mounted the camera in the peak of a steep roof. I had to add a 6 ft. USB cable to reach through a window to my PC. Only problem is they raised the bottom of the nest with twigs and the 4 eggs are a little out of focus. Next time I'm going to lower the opening about an inch and see if that helps. Can't see much now that they've started sitting on the eggs except when they trade places. Hope to see more when they hatch and start feeding.the chicks.
Yes! I bought one from Plow and Hearth but I'm sure it can be made...three sides are wood (the front with the opening) and the back is plexiglass.
The plexiglass side had a suction cup on it which I stuck to the outside of a window.
I can see into the house! But, I've not gotten anything to go inside yet. It may be because they can see me on the otherside...
