When do you know your lime trees are ripe for picking?

Hhhmmm...are you really going to pick the tree? :) Reckon you meant pick the limes, huh? (sorry, I just couldn't help teasing you a little)
When the fruit is a good size and smells like 'lime' it is ripe. I have a lemon tree and it seems that they ripen slowly...one or two everyday, rather than all at once.
