Has anyone tried dry farming tomatoes in Southern California? Specially San Fernando Valley?
Question:Trying to grow the best tasting tomatoes in the valley. Want to know if Dry Farming or Near Dry Farming is possible.

Any concept of DRY with tomatoes is fraught with disappointment, frustration, and wasted $$$ as tomatoes are NOT a crop that can be "dry farmed". Tomatoes are water loving plants . . . without a regularly frequent irrigation your tomatoe crop will be a disaster. Even infrequent irrigation will cause the fruit to split. Dry farming is related to the grains.
