I have a horrible problem with ants.?

Question:I have a problem with the big army ants. I have set out ant traps and everything and they just aren't working.

Answers:
If you can try to track them back to the nesting site. Treat the nesting site with a labeled product. You could also call a Pest Control Operator to take care of the problem for you.

If the ant traps aren't working...try spraying for ants. It should kill the ones that are alive and leave the traps out just in case more come along.
TRY IT IT WORKS take a cup of hot water and pour sugar in it and leave it next to thier nest they smell the sugar so when they go inside they will fall in the water.
My dad found their home and poured lots of gasoline down the hole. That got rid of them, but gas is expesive these days so I don't think u'll want to waste it in that way.
I use Diatomaceous Earth. You can buy it at garden centers. It dries up the ants, bugs, and most creepy crawly things.
Oregano - dried herb, sprinkle around the nests, or try baking soda mixed with equal amount of icing sugar, set dish near holes, they'll feed on it, and it kills them, this can also be used around your doorways, so they won't be bothered trying to come into the house.
Ants don't care for mint or citrus, cloves or bay leaves, so think orange peel, peppermint tea, lemon juice, ground cloves, etc. If you can plant mint around the foundations of your home, you may deter them from entering. Vinegar has the same acid as citrus, so use it to clean with and ants won't feel welcome. (It probably erases or overpowers the odor trail other ants have left for them to follow.)

Clean bench tops and cupboards down really well, and then wipe down with a clean damp cloth that has a few drops of essential peppermint oil on it, you may need to apply a few drops of oil a couple of times.

Ants hate the smell of it and it is also environmentally friendly, and safe for humans and children, and no residue powders etc to clean up. And the big bonus is that the room smells fresh and minty. I also want to add that you can put the oil on a cotton ball after cleaning and put in the areas you have ants and that should help too...replace once the smell is gone.

I hope this was helpful,Good Luck! :)
Another thing you might try is cornmeal. Sprinkle it or pile it where you see the ants. They take it "home" to eat yet are unable to digest it. Depending on how many you have, it may take a week or so to notice that their numbers are dwindling.
