Is it bad to water your plants too much?

Question:I just water them for one day then skip for two days. Come back and water them again. They are looking fine. The flowers are blooming, and no wilting. Do you think it is bad to over water them?

Answers:
It is bad to over-water.

Every plant needs a different amount of water depending on it's variety and species, it's size, the size of the pot and the conditions in your house or the conditions outside, if it's an outdoor potted plant.

General rule of thumb: Water it deeply and well, then let the soil get just dry before you water it again. Let the soil dictate your watering schedule, not a calendar.

Find a good resource book at the bookstore or your library, look up each plant and find out how much water they need. Some types like it constantly moist, some like it nice and dry for a good period of time between waterings.

And no matter what type of plant, make sure there is an unblocked drainage hole at the bottom of the pot so excess water will drain away.

You have to be careful you can destroy them by not watering and watering them too much will drown them.
It can be bad to over water plants. I would look up the type of plant you have and see how much watering it requires so that you don't drown it.
in general, it is not healthy for the plant to overwater it.

what you can do is monitor the soil until the top layer looks like it is about to be dry and then give the plant its water and nutrients.

some plants don't need as much water as others. be sure to know what plants require what condition in which to thrive and grow .
if you overwater, you can cause root rot. Water when the soil feels dry to the touch or when the plant's leaves look a little droopy.
If you are worried, get a water meter at your plant store. It is less than $10.

Your watering plan sounds fine. If you water your plants too much, they have problem getting the gases out of the spaces in the soil.
Sonetimes yes and no some plants need alot and come don't to me i think ur plants are good so water ur plants every 2 days if it;s a hot day give them a little shower and continue ur watreing pattern

Good luck!
Yes, it is bad to overwater plants but you aren't so just keep doing what you are, it sounds like a good routine.
