Unknown lilly, might be old, help ID please?

Question:i once lived on land that was a old homeplace. we had a lilly type flower come up. it's 6 petals are about 2 inches across. the petals are a orangest-red-yellow, speckled with red dots, the stamen, stigmas are yellow. when i moved i used a shovel and took all the dirt around them. it seems to have had a root system rather than a bulb. from the graves nearby i think the home was gone about the time of the late 1800's. now i know you dont want a stranger sending you email with a attached picture, and i do not know how to find a place where's i could post it online.any guess or site with old lilly pictures would be really welcome. i just wonder it;s name, and the best way to keep the clump with me for a long while. it just bloomed one today and i see 3 more buds that will open by weeks end.
