How do you propagate impatiens.?

Question:"Encore" Peach Butterfly Impatiens - Zone 11

They were a gift "potted". I like them and want to grow more.
What would be the first step in doing so.

Answers:
You can propagate those is sterile sand. Take a cutting of new growth and pick off nearly all the leaves except the top three or four. Then put in sterile sand, water well, and cover with a jar.

Place this out of the sun in a warm environment and they will root. Once rooted place them into a sterile potting soil and they should thrive. This process will take about 4 weeks to get them growing.

You can simply snap off a stem and root in water. They root so fast!
