This plant can be controlled with hand pulling. It will resprout from root fragments, but with repeated pulling you can control small infestations. Do NOT let the pulled vine lye on the ground as it can reroot. Repeated mowings can also work if persistent.
RoundUp can be applied while plant is actively growing. Apply to all leaves possible. Be careful not to get on beneficial plants. Apply on a day with no rain in the forecast to give RounUp the best chance to penetrate the leaf. Do not cut plant after spraying RoundUp. RoundUp is a systemic that must be translocated by the plant to the roots to be effective. It can take two weeks or more for RoundUp to work on Bittersweet Nightshade. Weed-B-Gon can be used in grassy areas.
