Square footage conversion question.?

Question:If a bag of soil covers 2 cubic feet per the label.how many square feet of space will that bag cover at 6 inches deep?

Answers:
8
Think of it this way. If you wanted it 2 foot deep it would cover 2 square feet. One foot deep would double it. And 1/2 foot deep would double it again.

The best place for you to go right now is www.1800TOPSOIL.com. They have a calculator on the web site that lets you figure it out. Good luck!
Cubic foot - is 12 x 12 x 12 inches you are asking about a 1/2 cubic foot 12 x 12 x 6 - the difference is a factor of 2.
Therefore you would have 4 square feet 6 inches deep - or 4 half cubic feet.

The response of 8 is incorrect - you would only have 3 inch deep soil if you tried to cover an area of 8 square feet.
4 sq. ft. at 6" depth.
