I just planted some perennial daisies. They receive lots and lots of sun. Why are they wilted?

Question:The soil seems moist underneath. Earlier this year I planted gerbera daisies and they also wilted and died. Morewater or less water??

Answers:
Did you plant Shasta daisies? Shastas:
1. need at least 5 hours of full sun daily.
2. need almost daily watering.
3. do not like heavy, poorly-drained soil.
4. like soil rich in organic matter (compost or manure).
5. have shallow root systems; this is why you must water frequently and fertilize with organic matter.
6. like to be mulched; it helps conserve their water.

Usually, Shastas wilt and droop dramatically when they need water. I know you mentioned their soil seemed moist, but you might try more water. I use Shasta daisies all over my property and have always had luck in full sun, rich soil, and lots of water and mulch. If you get them established, they don't need quite as much water the next year, and they do spread!

idk
They are probably suffering from transplant shock, they should be okay just keep watering since they are newly transplanted. Gerbera daisies are another story - I can't grow them, they are too finicky.
Almost all my perennials wilt for a time when I first plant them. I'm told they are establishing root systems and are going through a shock phase. All mine(including daisies),have done great this next year. Suggested watering is a good!! soaking every three or four days when it's very warm outside. You could also go to Nature Hills Nursery.com. They have a wonderful site. A question and answer forum too. Good Luck, and happy gardening!!
It is OK. Cut off the dead stems, they'll come back next spring
