HELP!! my calla lily's leaves are turning yellow. What should I do?
Question:I know to cut off blooms after they are done blooming--do I do the same with the leaves? There are new leaves coming out.
Answers:
During the summer calla lillies loose their leaves and go dormant. This is totally normal. If you're lazy, you can let the leaves compost where they fall. Otherwise you can pull them off. When they're all dried it's usually a lot easier to get them off.
water them or let them die!
Have they had proper water? This is the first thing to ensure.
Otherwise you probably have a fungus (or your lillies may I should say). Go to your local nursery (or Wally World) and get a fungicide. Spray all your plants as directed.
Where do you live?
Good luck!
If you live in the south, they are only perennials - which means they die and don't come back. Since Calla Lilies are a spring-time plant, it is probably already getting too hot for them. While they are trying their very best and puting out new growth, it may be time for them to meet the big compost pile in the sky. If you are keeping it indoors, just snip off the yellow leaves and let it keep growing, it may make it to next year.
I think usually if your watering to much you get yellow leaves. If you are not watering enough you get brown leaves.
Or it could be a fungus, maybe?
You could call a local plant nursery and tell them about the plant and I bet they would help.
