Question:That is, besides killing it or permanently harming it.
Answers:
There is a special device that's a sprinkler with a motion sensor that makes a noise and sprays water called Scare Crow by a company called Contech. You can order them online for about $80. http://www.contech-inc.com/products/scar... Look at the funny video they have. It really works!
kill it,
Buy it a bus ticket to Punxatawny.
WOOF!
My Sheltie's job is patrolling the gardens -- we grow fruits and vegetables for our farm cooperative. Nothing gets by him! He's a tireless worker and keeps the pests away.
Shove chewed gum down the hole.

Call Bill Murray.
you need a fence that is buried about a foot deep. either that, or shoot it.
just find out what they eat and put it outside in the same spot for a while and it will eventaully it will stay there eventhough there is no food
Try hanging a pie pan out on a string on a post or tree, the noise might scare it away.plus any other animals you might not want in your yard...
I guess trap it, and release it somewhere far away.
call the animal shelter they took my groundhog out of my garden
Put on a really scary Halloween mask, wait for it to come out of its hole, and then jump out and go BLAHLALALALA!
Seriously, those are resilient animals, and there is no shortage of them. Kill it. The worms, crows, buzzards and maggots need to eat too, after all.
Put fish bones around it's hole. The fishbones are so sharp that once they eat them their insides will be cut up.That worked for me.
believe it or not... growing marigold around the outer border helps keep all furry pests away. The scent is offensive to rodents, squirrels, moles ect ect.
Marigolds are cheap, hearty and self propigating and make a nice border and best of all natural no chemicals needed.
This may sound cruel. but it works there is mor than one hole in his tunnel cover all but one. get good pair of boots a shovel and agarden hoseuse the garden hose to flood his tunnel stand over the open hole and wait for him to start scratching on the bottom of your boots the take a shovel and jam it through the ground you may have to stomp on the shovel to break his neck. or he will drown.
trap it in a have a heart trap and take it elsewhere near water- far away. Or call the animal rescue people. sometimes they have the traps available to borrow. good luck
fence your garden
