Gardenias make great potted plants, and are very fragrant! Roses, lillies, petunias, carnations are some more that will grow good in pots.

I love jasmine, especially night blooming jasmine. The flowers open up at night and let off a beautiful sweet smell. They are also nearly indestuctable. We had a pretty bad freeze here in Californina Last winter. The Jasnmine looked bad, I thought it was gone. Come spring it came right back and is looking very full. I can't wait for it to flower and release tha wonderful fragrance in my backyard.
