I need some ideas for a border around my condo.any ideas?
Question:I've looked at my neighbors for ideas, but can't really decide on shrubs, ground cover, those brick things, etc. thanks for your help!
Answers:
Try some meditterranean type plants - lavendar is not only a soft / grey leaf it also has divine flowers, and you can trim it to a hedge. The more you cut it, the more flowers you get. It is tough and looks good. Then you could incorporate it with some nice river pebbles in natural colors and some ground cover purple daisies. Stick to natural colors and perhaps purple and white. If you like yellows - you can go for a coastal rosemary (an Australian native) that has pale yellow flowers and have a minty yellow or white ground cover flower. You could add a feature of a big natural terracotta urn, or perhaps a minature magnolia tree. Add garden spotlights to accent the garden during the evenings - you can even get solar powered ones.
It's good to get ideas from your neighbors gardens as to what grows well in your area - but you can be individual and inspire everyone else!
Rocks or thos brick things or sand.
Amy natural plant that is native to the area is good,
Idea is not to use anything that is going tio require potable water to for appearances.
Earth is short of water, or something is going on, look at Lake Powell. Or look at pictures of the ice things melting.
Go with something that does not need watering and then it is best for everybody.
Try this nursery. They used to have different gardens I.E. sun gardens, shade gardens, cottage gardens etc. It should give you some ideas anyway. They also have quality plants and shipping procedures. I have ordered from them before, and although they are a little pricey, it's money well spent.
