Answers:
Lady bugs, praying mantis, assassin bug, and fingers

Soap & water in a dish.
Buy a huge bag of ladybugs at Home depot. They love to eat aphids. or if you don't care about sprays the 3 in 1 garden safe soap works
Pesticide/insecticide or you can buy ladybugs, which eat the aphids, at nurseries and garden centers
once they are there its hard to get rid of them without some sort of insect killer..which really from the sounds of it you don't want to put on your garden

and i can't blame you either.
ladybugs.
spray your plants with insecticidal soap
Plain soap and water. Spray the plants thoroughly and the soap will dry the bugs out and kill them. Careful it will kill other soft body bugs also. You have to get the aphids when they are young before their body hardens or else it is not as effective. Go to your extension website for organic means of ridding aphids.
