Slug ? .?

Question:why do they get all squirmy/die after you salt them?

Answers:
Slug use slime as a means of transportation. My hunch is the salt dissolves this slime and their soft body along with it. They are also attracted to beer and will drown in it if you set small saucers of it around the plants you don't want them to eat.

salt is poisonous to them.
Salt sucks all the water out of the slug, look up osmosis and semi-permeable membranes to learn more. RScott
