I have the same bugs! They are very annoying!! After looking and looking to find out what they are and how to get rid of them I found out that they are chiggers and there is no way to get rid of them. All you can do is wear a repellant that has deet in it to prevent them from biting you.

Maybe japenese beetles.look alot like ladybugs, but meaner.
Wow, I know of alot of bugs but I don't know
this one. I thought it may be a chigger but they don't crawl, mabe you could quarentine your pool area and spray an insecticide on them. Good Luck, if you can't get them in control mabe you can call your county extension office for advise.
Are they noseeums? You don't say what area you are in but in Florida and southern states the noseeums are horrible and the bites are fierce! I don't know what their official name is, but they are out at dusk and dawn.

I was just out by our pool on a yellow blanket and starting getting bit by what sounds like the same thing. My research seems to point to "thrips". I had never heard of them but the picture looks about like what bit me. Here is the best picture I found. Hope this helps.
