Can I have a water well drilled in order to use the water for my yard ? (or group of neighbors get together)?
Question:I live in suburban Atlanta. I was wondering if I could have a water well drilled and use the water for my yard. Maybe 4 neighbors could all throw in together and share it.
I have seen signs on office complexes saying that the water they are using is from a 'private well'.
It bugs me that I have to say this every time, but if I don't, I just end up coming back and adding it:
1. Please answer my question
2. see 1.
3. see 2.
4. Do not include anything judgmental in a reply (e.g. 'You shouldn't do that ...)
5. Do not include some story that is primarily about yourself and only loosely related to my question.
6. Only answer this if you have a genuine clue about the topic. Complete speculation is worthless. (I can speculate on my own).
Sorry about 'the rules'.
(If you have asked questions before, then you know why I have added them).
Thanks.
Answers:
In the state of Michigan, water is readily available. Many of my neighbors sunk what is called a point. They did it themselves, and used the water only for lawns and gardens. Check with a well driller and see if it is as easy that in GA.
Go to your local Zoning office and find out if it is allowed.
