Tomatoes in the garden shrivelling up?

Question:I planted 4 small tomato plants in my outdoor garden, the next day they were starting to look a little wilty and shriveled up and I have been watering lots and regularly as it is warm out during the day.what is the lowest temp though at night then can stand? I am thinking it is still getting a little too cool out at night. Thanks.

Answers:
Don't give up on them yet!
Tomatoes don't take well to transplanting when they're small. As long as they were healthy when you bought them, and they're getting hydrated, they'll probably recover.
Unless---you've had night time temps under forty degrees. Tomatoes are a hot weather crop; they hate the cold.
I'd give them another week to see if they perk up though---good luck!

Maybe you are watering too much or at the wrong time of day.
Well, we don't know where your from and the temp. there so we can't determine that for you. Did you take time to prep the soil? Do they get enough sun and does the soil stay moist? Are there any bugs affecting them? Have you used too much fertilizer? These are all questions you need to ask yourself.
Just water every other day add M/Grow for a few times and let the sunshine in, Keeps weeds away shake some 7 Dust on them for bugs, Hope this helps from Atlanta Ga.
water em deeply once a day for the first two weeks of planting and they will recover!
Don't water them too much and also on Tomatoes, did you plant them deep? When planting tomatoes you should always make sure that at least half the plant is underground to give it a good root system. Then is a few days it should start looking good.
