What is the best month to put in a new lawn and shrubs?

Question:Is July too late

Answers:
Jerry Baker is a famous lawn-care expert, and he recommends doing it in August. If you think about it, the wild grasses are growing seeds right now, and they'll be dropping them in the middle of August -- so if nature puts in her new lawn now, it should work, right?

I'd recommend buying his books, or checking them out at the library.

You can also check with your county extension agent, if you live in the States.

It ios too hot. Do this in late Sept.
well depending on where you live you dont wanna do it to close to a cold winter my suggestion is do it a few months b4 cold weather so the grass has time to acclamate if no winters i would do it in late sept..
The later the better, Sep or Oct in the south, broadcast seed then put old straw over it, that works well. Or early, Mar & Apr, just sew it then water it..

For shrubs, late is best, cool but not cold, right before dormant season. Water well for a month and then only once in a while.
September is very good, it gives both the lawn and shrubs enough warm season to grow and establish a strong root system before winter. By waiting until late summer/early fall, you also skip the very hot intense dry days of summer, giving your new baby plants a good easy start.
You can prepare the beds now. Shrubs can go in if you buy container grown shrubs; transplanting from one place to another is not good now. You will need to keep them watered. Sod can go in now, again you will have to be diligent in watering.

Wait until September to plant grass seed.
July is late. The ground is devoid of its moisture at that time. Why don't you try it in May and or September. The weather is a little cooler at these times and you will not have to run up your water bill to water the new lawn.
July isn't too late but you have to water it often.
after the hot summer or early spring good luck
I would say depending on where you live, probably early fall.

Its less stressfull on the bluegrass.
I think July is just right ! It is the middle of summer and the weather is cooling down for fall but not to cold it is still summer !
Enjoy it!!
It could be tough but it can be done, you must water the lawn a lot and keep the shrubs hydrated. Plant shrubs after sun goes down and mulch well. Good luck!
summer is the best time for lawns when it hot. but you must keep it wet. fall is the best time for shrubs when it starts to cool so thay will not be stress out by the heat. the roots will have time to grow. thay will grow roots all fall and winter so your plant will ready to start growing next spring.
