How do I discreetly kill a neighbors tree?
Question:I know I shouldn't do it, but the roots are all over my veggie garden and the darn thing now shades my whole garden. The neighbor couldn't care less about the tree, but he refuses to cut it down or let me do so. So how do I kill the darn thing in such a way that is not obvious?
Answers:
A copper nail. If the nail is big enough to harm the base of the tree. It can open an
entry for infection and disease. You also need to consider how big is the
nail and the tree. Driving a copper nail has physical, chemical, and
biological actions playing together. If the tree dies, it will not be easy
to know precisely what the main cause was acting. Copper as a metallic form
is not harmfull to tree nutrition. It needs to oxidize, to solubilize and
then be absorbed.
What you can do is create a barrier between the tree and your garden. Dig a trench and put a 10' piece of copper pipe in the trench. You should be able to dig a trench large enough just by cutting a groove and wiggling the shovel to widen the gap. The copper pipe will leach into the ground and form an invisible barrier to the roots. If you want to speed up the process, buy some copper sulfate and sprinkle it into the trench before stomping closed.
This won't kill it, only deter the roots from your garden.
I heard it was an iron nail not copper????? But what I would do is pour strait Round Up un the ground and nuke the whole yard. Then put the soil in a land fill so it will be someone one elses problem. Replace it with good top soil and have your garden. No more worrying about that old air purifying, Beneficial insect and bird and bat housing tree.
Of course even I would not want the cooling effect from its shady branches, not to mention that it holds the earth in place in case of heavy rains and mud slides. Hey Pal Move the Garden!!!!
Several ways to kill it, but would be a lot simpler and cheaper to just move your garden. Try growing your garden in pots.
YOU DON'T! Are you aware that if you're caught out the fine you have to pay will definitely outweigh any benefit you might gain from destroying the tree? Better off to make an offer to the neighbour to go half-way with cost of getting rid of the tree.
u wouldn't dare.
it is a living thing just like u.
You are entitled by law to remove anything within the perimeter of your yard. You can go straight up or down, it is considered your property if it is within your lot. Based on the amount of roots and branches you need to remove, that may just kill the tree. No need to be discreet, it is within your right if it is in your lot.
u take a bottle of "weed-b-gone" concentrate, sneek over in the middle of the night, and pour the whole bottle out at the base of the tree. burn the bottle.... within two or three days the tree will show signs that it's dying! sorry guys... he asked the question. i'm just answering it!
If the roots are in your veggie garden then cut them. They are on your property and it is your right. You can also just hire an unscrupulous individual to cut the tree down when your neighbor is not home, but make sure you are gone too and with someone to back up your story.
FIRE 1 gallon of gas and a match
