How do you measure a residential lot?

Question:

Answers:
Go to your local Register of deeds office and get a copy of your plat map or Certified Survey map to get the correct boundary lines. The only way to correctly measure a piece of land is to use a Transit...the thing you see surveyors using ( looks like a very small telescope on a tall tripod) If you or a past owner have had a Certified Survey done on your property You will be able to find corner markers and pace it off from those markers. Otherwise just have your property surveyed if you need to know exactly.
