I am trying to grow vegetables but i've been lazy and instead of digging the ground i've ..?
Question:just dumped a few bags of organic seedling soil onto an existing garden bed that had mulch on top (about a year old). that the mulch was not organic and at worst that it could have been dyed to make it look really black. the seedlings should have a soil depth of 15 cms but i reckon that the tipped out bags are about 10 cms high after i spread them out a bit. two weeks later they're growing ok . but now i'm worried about how they'll turn out and if they do will they be safe to eat?? i've got tomatoes, onions and rainbow chard. help please.
Answers:
Yes I think they will be safe to eat. If you are not sure, wash it well or contact a expert on your question.
yea, I don't know. if you do anything now you will disturb your seedlings and not have anything. Maybe you will have to chalk this one up to live and learn and do better for next season. Who knows, you may get a garden anyhow.
Just hire a planter to plant for you while you do something you would like to do and if you cant afford it try to find a kid that you know particularly a girl if she could do it and pay her 10-20$ see if she will do it. :3
don't worry they will be fine and safe to eat next time dig out the mulch then put the soil in.my neighbor always put mulch in his garden and he is still alive. but i never do.
