Hose Reel - How to Attach Garden Hose?
Question:I have one of those bench type hose reels and the instructions suck. There is a short length of hose that I think gets attached to my faucet and I believe the other end of it (that's inside the bench) is where the garden hose is attached. I hate to sound stupid; but the insert with the "instructions" doesn't explain squat.
Answers:
Obviously, it is a lttle difficult to answer this without knowing the make and model #.
However most hose reels (Garden or otherwise)
have a swiveling connection running from the central Hub that allows the reel to be turned without twisting the inlet connection.
So on most Garden hose reels you will usually find a short length of hose shipped with the reel that has a FEMALE Garden Hose Thread (Swivel Nut) on the end intended to attach to you water supply, and the other end has a thread (or connection) intended to attach to the inlet connection on the Reel's Hub.
On most reels there is what is called a Goose Neck (sort of S shaped pipe) that protrudes up from the inside of the hub that will have the MALE Garden Hose thread to which you will attach the Garden Hose you will be putting on the reel.
Hope that helps.
Good Luck
You got it! The short piece of hose does go to your faucet and there is a threaded piece inside the bench that you will attach your hose to. See that was simple.
