Can i use landscape bricks for a small campfire pit? or will they crack? what can i use?

Question:

Answers:
You can use regular bricks to line a campfire pit and they should last a while with occasional use. To answer your question YES they will crack eventually. By bricks I mean clay bricks not concrete or pavers, concrete will explode little pieces at a time when subjected to direct flame.
If you already have the bricks go ahead and use em. If you don't go buy "fire" brick at your home improv store these brick are yellowish in color in some areas they are kinda pink but yellow is the most common.
these will last a very long time its best to line the fire pit bottom with about 3" of gravel BEFORE the brick because in the rainy season the the brick will suck up the water and this is not good.

Retaining wall worked great for me
The best thing to use is field stone. Go to the countryside and ask a farmer if he has any you could have. They clear their fields of stone while planting and usually throw them in a pile along side the fields. Around here they let you have them for free and you will have a nice country drive .
Do not use river rocks. River rock is saturated with water and will explode when heated.
