My Heliotrope flowers are turning brown. Why is this?

Question:Heliotrope is not bloosoming the way I heard they should. I keep it moist (not to wet) and it does get some sun. Help

Answers:
HOW HOT IS IT WHERE YOU LIVE, MAYBE IT IS TOO MUCH HEAT, TRY PUTTING IT IN THE SHADE FOR AWHILE, PINCH OFF DEAD BLOSSOMS AND GIVE IT SOME MIRACLE GROW. I LOVE HELIOTROPE, IT CAN BE HARD TO GROW. GOOD LUCK.

There is an insect called THRIPS, I think it might be the problem. Take a piece of white paper and knock, bang, hit, the blossoms fairly hard into the white paper, SHAKE THEM HARD, if you see tiny straight lines of black , brown, or yellow running around, then you have THRIPS.
Brown usually means thrips.
If this is the problem, go to a GOOD garden shop and tell them what you have and even if they recommend something...Read the label on the BACK of the bottle before you buy it! Feel free to peal that back label open and read!
