If I plant marigold around CORN, would it keep DEER AWAY from my garden?

Question:WHat is it they dislike about marigold--the scent disgusts them? what else should I plant to keep them away?

Answers:
Some people swear by Lifebuoy soap. They put bars of it on tall stakes around the corn. Then there are those motion-detecting sprinkler heads that literally turn the hose on the buggers. You could also use motion-detecting lights to startle them.

If you use all three, you could get a great view of showering deer, suds and all.

Good luck!

A good way to keep deer away from corn is to rig up Motion detector lights and in one of the sockets put an adapter for a outlet and put a radio outside so the light will come on and radio to scare them off when it senses them.
My family uses predator pee in their garden. You can buy it off the internet or in nurseries. They use mountain lion pee, and it really works. Marigolds won't stop deer because they just step over it. That works better on smaller animals like rabbits. My family experimented with motion detector lights, but were tired of the lights flashing on and off all night long, and it didn't take long for the deer to start liking being able to see what they were eating. I imagine that sprinklers would be the same. After a while they get used to it, and then you have a swamp for a yard.
An automatic sprinkler scarecrow has worked awesome for all kinds of critters (and it's humane).
