I prefer bulbs and perennials because they do not have to be planted every year. I do fill in with annuals sometimes. Dutch Iris are my favorite bulbs, they look like orchids to me.
Any kind! I love the first bloom of the tiny crocus blooming through the last spring snow, to the mighty mum that refuses to give up until that last final frost!

The Hawaiin orchid is THE most beautiful flower!
star magnolia... they smell so sweet! technically it is a tree, but the flower smells wonderful!
