How can I stop squirrels from digging around the plants in my garden?

Question:Must be an Organic solution.

Answers:
Sprinkle cayenne pepper. You can also place lava rock, which hurts their little feet.

PAY AN EXTERMINATOR.
Plain old black pepper. just sprinkle that. They will have a bad cases of the sneezes, but it won't kill them.
place moth balls near the plants
Cayenne pepper.

Used cat litter, though that can spread disease.

Snake manure.

Urine.

Moth balls will work, but they certainly are not organic.
how about 50/50 mix of tabasco sauce and water? put it in a spray bottle and spray around the plants. that,ll make his nose run and burn his little beady eyes and probably take his breath away. ever heard of pepper spray? same stuff! you might have to do this often, squirrels forget easy and come back for seconds. i wouldn,t put it on to thick, just mist !
Lay chicken wire or hardware cloth over the dirt around the base of the plants as a physical barrier to digging.
