Vinegar to kill algea?

Question:I have a man made boulder lined pond in front of my house. The pond is empty right now and there is algae on the rocks that I would like to kill. I have heard that spraying vinegar on them will kill the algae. Has anyone heard of this? Is this true? Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answers:
Yes, white vinegar is recommend for killing weeds along roadsides and range lands and for homeowners to control weeds around brick walls, sidewalk and driveway cracks.

Its a natural, non toxic, environmentally safe and inexpensive product that will kill the algae on your pond rocks.

I spray bleach or hydrogen peroxide and it works well.
Vinegar is an acid.Yes it will kill it.Bye
yes! use vinegar. you wont get all the unfriendly side effects, and the smell wont linger on for days like a bleach solution.
