What is sweet grass?

Question:

Answers:
Sweet grass = Hierochloe odorata, I use it as a low maintenance lawn, smells great when you mow. I had to modify the mower to cut at 6" (used larger wheels and extra set of mounting holes) to keep it from winter killing here in North Dakota. I always let enough go to seed to cut for local artisans and religious groups. RScott

It is the sweet smelling grass that is also called buffalo grass. It is used for herbal flavorings and for weaving decorative wreaths.
Native to both the new world and the old, it likes moist soil, like around ponds and streams. When burned, the smoke is sweet.

One of the things the new-age wannabes use for "smudging".

It has traditional uses in several cultures.
