No, a pair of glasses will be enough.
Sorry but you have fried your plant. A plant can sunburn just like you. Plants get use to light factors just like you. Put your plant back where it was. Get ready to buy a new one. Wait and see though. Don't cut off leaves or anything. The plant may recover from its crown. Wait a few weeks or month to clean up the dead material. The roots are not burned. Don't over water! Buy some superthrive from a nursery or garden center. Only a few drops just like the directions say. Too much superthrive won't kill your plant and superthrive is expensive.
Remove the dead or white leaves. Keep it shaded with moderate amounts of water. Trimming back the damaged leaves will helpt the plant fo conserve energy and once recovered from the damage, refocus it's energy into reproducing new leaves to absorb chloropyll necessary to sustain growth. It will require extra nitrogen as wel.

If your plant is situated in an area where it receives more sunlight than specified you will have to relocate it to partial shade or no shade. I'm sorry. I don't know what kind of plant you are talking about, nor any of the particulars. I'm just giving you general indicators and possible solutions.
Oh, my... I don't even want people to know I did this, But Here goes... I had the same problem. The thing with mine was if I cut the burned leafs off, it really would destroy the look of the plant. So I~~~~PAINTED THEM! There it's out to the world,I painted my sunburned plants leaves green. There still green and the plant is still beautiful! When new leaves grow ,I'll cut those off! But for now.. Only myself could think up this one. It's a classic! What do the neighbours think!
hey, if it made the thing look better and it didn't kill the plant then I think going with the "painting" idea would work best...lol..classic.. indeed. i can't stop laughing just picturing u painting it and probably crying the whole time..lmao
