Need plant Identity: Bamboo-like stalk, 10 feet tall, broad oval leaves, grows in clump.?


Question:Plant cluster is dense. There are a few shoots growing out from main clump. Doesn't appear to have spread very fast but grew quickly in the spring. Leaf shape is not the typical bamboo, notl ong and slender.

Where are you located? I have a similar plant here in NC.
could be river cane looks a lot like bamboo and fits your description growth slows down by mid summer
Although the leaves are different, it could still be a clump of bamboo. Without a picture it is hard to tell for sure.
