Rabbits keep digging holes in my lawn, what can i do to prevent this?
Question:

If you live in cosmopolitan North America, chances are it is NOT rabbits who dig holes in your lawns (especially looking for grubs). And rabbits are inherantly shy creatures, who spend the night sleeping just like the rest of us.
Your actual culprits are probably raccoons. They wander around at night looking for all possible sources of food, and one of those just happens to be the grubs that are living under your lawn. Don't ask me how they know that they are there, but they do!
You easiest method of prevention is to get a dog which you leave outside for the night. No wild creature will come into a yard patrolled by a slavering toothed domestic terror.
Mechanical methods
Rabbit-proof fences offer practical and inexpensive protection for small areas of high value plants. You can exclude rabbits from vegetable and flower gardens, nurseries and ornamental plants with an 18 to 24 inch high fence of 1-inch mesh galvanized wire. Temporary posts are satisfactory. The bottom edge of wire must be carefully staked to the ground, or buried several inches, to prevent rabbits from burrowing under the fence. Well maintained fences offer assurance that rabbits will be excluded during the period the plants require protection. Tree trunk guards are effective in preventing rabbit damage to individual trees and shrubs. Cylinders of 1/4-inch mesh hardware cloth 18 to 24 inches high, set into the ground surrounding the trunk, will help prevent gnawing damage to the main stem. Multi-stemmed shrubs should be encircled with hardware cloth or 1-inch mesh wire. Commercial tree wraps and plastic guards are available from garden and horticultural supply stores, he wire cylinders and tree wraps will prevent gnawing damage from both rabbits and meadow mice. Guards and wraps are not effective when snow depth is greater than the height of the wire or wrap.
get a kangaroo-rabbits will get on there knees and pray-thinking the creator has arrived or something..
I don't know because i haven't seen the holes, but if they are all over your yard about 3-4 inches deep, it sounds to me like armadillos. They also eat bugs and only come out at night. They are filthy creatures and they can carry leprosy. A dog would do the trick, but a prefer a 22 long rifle. If you hit em in the head they really flop around!!
I'm not sure it is rabbits. Usually they are looking for food. Treat the lawn for grubs, getting rid of the food source will get rid of the critters.
I think the fragrance of herbs will keep them away,,,

Whether or not it's rabbits, armadillos, or raccoons, you can try using something like a predator's urine too. I know it sounds weird and disgusting, but you can buy it on the internet and at nurseries. My family uses it to keep deer out of the garden and it works great. They use mountain lion pee, but in your case others (coyote/fox) might work too.
