Question about indoor bamboo plant.?

Question:I have a small indoor bamboo plant in a vase of small rocks and water.
The problem is that the leaves are yellowing and it don't look healthy.
I usually water it with bottled drinking water.
I was told it needs indirect light so that's what I do.
It hasn't grown for a long time and I was wondering what to do with it.
Should I plant it in some sand or dirt in a flower pot?
It was really pretty and would like to get it back to better health.

Answers:
"Lucky bamboo" plants are actually Dracaena. I understand that if the stalks turn yellow, that part of the plant should be removed; if the leaves turn yellow, it needs more fresh (unchlorinated) water and that water should be changed every 3-7 days. I have also read that yellow leaves should be removed and that it needs bright filtered light (such as behind a curtain by a bright window). Good luck with your lucky bamboo!

Mine is doing exactly the same. Maybe it's the time of year.
Just chuck the actually plant, and buy another one. Then put it in the same vase.

This time use water from the sink and put it in a sunny spot.

It will save you time and money because you won't be fusing around trying to get the old plant to perk up.
What you are describing is lucky bamboo and it only needs water. I'm guessing that it might need a little more light. See if you can get it just a bit more light and see how it responds. Typically leaves turn yellow because of too much water, but since this bamboo lives in water then it is probably the light source. I'm not certain about this but you might give it a try. Check out this article I just found. It seems that they like "bright" indirect light. See if this article helps you. http://www.bambooworld.com/lucky%20bambo...
