What are the little flowers that usually grow on grass called?

Question:I usually see them on the grass at schools and such.. they're really small.

Answers:
daisies are the white ones, buttercups are yellow and so are dandilions(don't pick those or you'll wet the bed!) little blue ones are called speedwell.

if they are yellow then they are dandelions...I think the little white ones are clover.
I hope this helps :-)
Grasses produce great numbers of tiny flowers, which are grouped into a cluster known as an inflorescence. The individual tiny flowers in an inflorescense are called florets. The florets are composed of the basic reproductive parts, protected by tiny, scalelike structures called bracts.
Commercial grasses don't have flowers that you would notice. If left to grow long they send up tiny stems with even tinier flowers which turn into tiny seeds. The flower has no special color.
On the other hand, wild grasses sport all kinds of colorful blooms, mostly small and mostly in bunches. But they are not useful for lawns because they are annual and die off each year. Dandilions are not grass, and I'm sure you have seen their cheerful little golden faces or "make-a-wish" seed heads. So I don't really know of anything that would be growing around a school or public building, that is mowed regularly, and makes little flowers.
Maybe if you can discribe the flowers, what color, as big as a dime, a pea, a pinhead?
dandelions are the yellow ones, & the white poof balls on the long stalks are the seed pods. The little white or light bluish ones are clover.
Either dandelions or buttercups. dandelions are about an inch or so in diameter, and buttercups are usually smaller
Yellow buttercups or purple violets are common in grassy areas. Both have small flowers.

Weeds like clover and dandelions also grow in the grass.
