I need the name of a flower my sister gave me. She snapped the stems and told me to stick them in the ground.

Question:She said they would grow roots.

Answers:
I will be glad to help if you could send us a photo of the flower. Most of your hard wood flowers will root when stuck in the ground. If it was a type of bush then it could be a variety of plants.

A little more information is required, there are THOUSANDS OF PLANTS OUT THERE,
Then they must be roses. My friend did that and told me to get them in the ground quick. I have three lovely rose bushes from them.
you would need to describe the flower you are talking about..there are hundreds of them that you can replant the way you described
With no description of the flower, can't give a name. Many plants can be rooted in soil and water.
it must be forsythia you just break a stem ans stick it it soil and job done. it will grow the next spring it has yellow flowers first and then leaves.
