What kind of flowers?
Question:I will like to know what kind of flowers are good to plant in my backyard garden and then cut them to put them as decoration in a vase in my kitchen table. THANKS
Answers:
there are many easy to grow cutting plants that have a long vase life, a few are gladiolas, lilac, flox, daylillies, shasta daisies, carnations,tulips,peonies,mums... and my fav is lily of the valley
Ahhh, Im thinking Colored Chilids because they have a bright, but elegant tone to them and they would last long in a vase. By the way...if you do use those flowers, get Sampson Origanal Flower Food to keep them lively looking!
this time of year I usually just pick some of the lilacs (purples)from the lilac bush next month I'll probably cut the Day Lillies (mostly orange)and put them in a vase -- because it's kind of cool how one flower will bloom for a day and die and the next day another one on the same stem will open . I usually put 5 or 6 stems with 3 or 4 for buds on each .. so they bloom for 3 or 4 days .. later in the year I like to put sunflowers(yellow and black) in a vase ... in the fall I like to put chinese lanterns in a vase (orange)
Hey, my personal favorite, which I have 30 or so of,. and will be planting 40 more, are the glorious Gladiolus. (Glads for short) Many different colors are available. Here in region 3, Texas they can stay in the ground year round. North you have to lift them and replant in the spring. I have some on my Kitchen table right now. The kicker is they take about 60 to 100 days to bloom and you need to stake them for strength.
