Do plants need seeds to grow? if u cut a sprouting potato into a cub and plant it will it grow?

Question:Do plants need seeds to grow? if u cut a sprouting potato into a cub and plant it will it grow?

Answers:
Not necessarilly. Potatoes that are sprouting will grow from cubes that have an eye in them. Many plants can be grown from a cutting that is grafted onto root stock.
And some plants will grow from a cutting that is just stuck into wet ground. I have done this with weeping willows. A lot of plants that are not woody will grown when a cutting is taken 2 to 4 inches from the tip and placed in damp potting soil. Chrysanthemums are proprogated that way.

If you cut up a potato, plant it, and water it. It will grow.
i got five cut up pieces of potato in my back yard and in one month they are over a foot wide and a foot tall
