Check with your allotment association, you'll find tham in either your local paper or phone book, if you have difficulty finding them this way check with your local garden centres, odds are they will know the contact info or know someone who does know.

Lots of people at this time of the year advertise that exact thing in local papers classified department!
it might be easier to just buy a few planter boxes and grow in them. you can do that anywhere!
I'd buy planters, either ceramic, in different sizes or get flower boxes, and use dark planting soil, (the boxes can be made of plastic, still works very well) That way, they are portable when you move :)
You don't need to lease a large plot to grow lettuce, you can grow the plants in flower pots. Choose a variety which allows you to pick a few leaves at a time then let the plants continue to grow. Baby spinach works well too. Runner beans, new potatoes, beetroot and spring onions are easy to grow in the same way. Your veg will thrive out of reach of slugs and snails and you can keep them watered without too much effort. I also plant veg in amongst my flower beds! Beetroot has attractive deep red leaves and runner beans make an interesting climber over a pergala when in flower and when the beans develop. Good luck with your veg growing!
