Deadhead or prune May Night Salvia?

Question:I have several of these plants in my flower beds, they are blooming beautifully but some of the older blooms are fading. I was wondering if I am supposed to prune the whole stem or just kind of flake off the little dead flowers? Any advice would help. Thanks!

Answers:
Just the flower spikes. Pretty plant indeed!

Wait until the entire spike is done blooming and then just snip it off.
Definately Dead Head.
go ahead and cut to the bottom of it it should bloom again that's the thing about perennials i use them all the time you have to cut on them and they repeat bloom i use may-night all the time and black eyed Susan's behind them its great combo and bee balm as well great combo anyway cut them back and wait you will see more blooms
