What is the best choice of trees to plant in your garden?

Question:

Answers:
If you are in an area that doesn't get too cold (not above VA) I recommend Bradford pears. In the spring they bloom white all over, they get a nice cone shape, and they don't get too big.

depends on where you live and what you have in your garden .. how big do you want it to get..alot is involved..
Nobody can answer that so generally, because you have to take all the following factors into account:

1. How much space do you have for the tree?
2. Does it get full sunlight, or partial shade?
3. Are you going to spend plenty of time taking care of it, or do you want a low maintenance tree?
4. Do you want an evergreen? Do you even have winter there?
5. Do you want any nuts or fruits from your tree?
6. Do you want pretty flowers on it? How important are they? Can they just be there a couple of weeks of the year, or do you want them there a lot longer?
7. Would there be any problem if it grew tall? Such as that it might cut off your view from your window, or anything like that?
8. Do you care what the tree smells like?
9. Do you have any particular allergies?
10. Might the roots damage your sewer pipe, or your sidewalk or driveway?
11. Do you want your kids to be able to climb in the tree?
12. Some trees need 4 seasons. Some need to avoid drought. You have to find out what trees are best for your climate.

The list goes on and on. That's why nobody can really answer such a general question with such limited information.
how big is your garden and what is your climate like? What country do you live in? Some generic trees that you may access are : crepe myrtle; cypress pine; dwarf magnolia; pecan; plane; oak; japanese maple, camellia sinesnis or japonica (these are really shrubs)
If you are into nature and things of that sort you could try doing this. Research what sort of trees were native to your area. Then select one of them for planting. This will make your yard a more inviting place for the insects which exist in your part of the world and these in turn will attract the birds, amphibians or reptiles.

It like giving mother nature a boost.
